This scarf came about as a special order for Kathy.

She wanted something easy to wear with loads of gray in the body and vivid turquoise leaves. Kathy has known this style of scarf since she won a similar one ☝️ in the giveaway last month!

So it was easy for her to imagine what was the colour way she wanted for the new one! It's a truly luxurious and magnificent scarf. Have a look how it flutters gently in the Irish 🍀 wind! The fabric used here is a see through silk that is hand rolled and a super shimmery felt that feels luxurious and light!

With free postage anywhere in the world 🌎 you can get this scarf for 99 Euro on Etsy.

LOCATION LOCATION........THE SAILORS HOME
( hot off the press this week)

Who better to photograph your product than your own team and #PeopleofLimerick.
We teamed up with our in-house creative consultant and photographer Deirdre Power and scouted for a location to create our 2107 Wholesale catalogue here in #limerick

We styled our scarfs at one of the Limerick City's architectural gems, The Sailors Home. Originally built as a refuge for the many sailors who came to the city during the late 1880’s. But due to many disputes over the rights to the space, the building, sadly never accommodated any sailors. Described as ‘handsome’, when completed in 1856,  it was later rented to the Limerick City Militia and eventually became a Gárda Barracks, which closed in the 1980’s.
In the past few years it has seen a new reawakening as an alternative space for artists exhibitions and projects. Long may it survive!
Many thanks to the guys at Shannon Foynes Company at Limerick Docks.

OUR YEAR 2016

2016 has been an exciting and busy year.
Here's an insight to our last few months.
Looking forward to 2017.

JULY 2016
In July we expanded the studio and relocated to Lady’s Lane in the heart of the Georgian Quarter, with an additional photographic studio.  All the work is handcrafted in the new studio, from the initial design and making to the hand dying, our product is truly unique and special to the city of Limerick.

In August the company KATE RAMSEY ARTISAN ACCESSORIES secured a new and exciting client, The British Museum Shop in London.  We have just completed our second order for the Museum Store.

SEPTEMBER 2016
In September we presented our project Felt in The City on Culture Night, where we held an exciting workshop on Nicholas Street in collaboration with St. Mary’s AID. The project proved a huge success with both locals and visitors to the street.

SEPTEMBER 2016
Earlier in the month, Kate Ramsey, the designer behind Kate Ramsey Artisan Accessories, paid a visit to the offices of the Kieran O'Hanlon, Mayor of the City and County of Limerick.
Kate introduced her current season designs, including the beautiful Silk and Wool Leaf Scarf that takes it inspiration from the shores of the River Shannon. “I love the beauty of the river, especially at full tide, one could skate out on the still surface. It’s so wonderful to see the local boats gliding by shadowed by the majestic cityscape of Limerick. It is, truly, a unique urban experience”. Kate took the opportunity to discuss her proposed plans to open a retail shop and studio on Nicholas Street in collaboration with her new PR/Social Media Manager and Photographer, Deirdre Power. “It has been a long term ambition of mine to locate to Nicholas Street."

August 2016
During a recent visit to the Island of Rhodes, Deirdre Power presented the stunning black leaf scarf to Agapi Kalomiri. “I was wearing the scarf at an event to mark a memorial for my aunt Theresa, who had died tragically, along with two of her friends on the island in 1972. Agapi admired the scarf, remarking on the colour and texture …sure I had to give it to her”

KATE RAMSEY ARTISAN ACCESSORIES features as emerging entrepreneur in Bunratty Castle & Folk Park redevelopment.

"One of the key objectives behind the investment was that the new store would showcase the best of contemporary Irish products, including the work of talented local artisan crafts people, in addition to the very best Irish products sourced from all over Ireland. The store reflects a wide geographical spread, from established brands like Foxford in the West, Avoca in Wicklow to locally based emerging entrepreneurs like Paul O Dwyer of Slate Craft in Co Clare and KATE RAMSEY of FABULOUS FELT in LIMERICK and provides an exciting opportunity for these upcoming Irish designers to showcase their brands to an international audience"

Season's Greeting

Hello Friends,
I am back on line with a new and exciting blog. I took an extended break from the Blogging as I have been busy crafting new designs at our new studio in the Medieval Quarter of Limerick city. It has been an exciting few months here at our workshop. We are currently preparing for the Christmas Market this Sunday 18th December at Limerick's exciting Milk Market. I have recently returned from Dublin where I was one of the top featured Designers recommended by the Craft Council of Ireland, very exciting. It has been great to meet up with returning clients & friends and also meeting new clients. Thank you for all the support over the years. Your continued support allows for new and fabulous designs in our studio. We look forward to future collaborations with new clients and develop new ideas that best suit our clients.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and looking forward to a prosperous and healthy New Year in 2017.
